Nonnewaug High School is pleased to offer the second installment of our new webinar series, the SAT Suite Power Hour spotlighting how schools and districts are using the SAT Suite in the Northeast's four accountability states—New Hampshire, Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island. Our goal is to give you practical, adaptable ideas you can bring back to your building.
Session Title: Shifting the Culture around the SAT: How Nonnewaug High School Uses Data to Increase Student Proficiency and Stakeholder Buy-In
Description: Connecticut’s Nonnewaug High School faced a difficult task three years ago. Record low scores and a lack of buy-in from the community threatened everything from student achievement to the school budget. Since then, Nonnewaug has built a culture of data with the SAT as a central component: helping to guide staffing and programming, developing their school priorities, and shaping instruction for every student. During this session, you will learn how Nonnewaug uses data from multiple sources, including PSAT/SAT results to inform classroom instruction and Tier 2 intervention. NHS staff will share how they structure their schedule to include PLC, structured data protocols, advisory, and intervention periods to build student ownership of results. Attendees will leave with specific strategies and adaptable action steps.
